French Door Systems Compared
Cocif offers several French door and window systems. Here’s a clear comparison to help you choose the right one for your project in Cyprus:
| System Type | Material | Best For | Key Advantages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wood | Solid wood | Classic & luxury homes | Warm appearance, excellent insulation |
| Wood-Aluminium | Wood inside + aluminium outside | Most popular in Cyprus | Best durability + aesthetics |
| Aluminium | Thermal-break aluminium | Modern & contemporary designs | Low maintenance, high UV resistance |
| PVC | High-quality PVC | Budget-conscious projects | Good insulation, easy maintenance |
Wood-aluminium systems are the most recommended for Cyprus because they combine the beauty of wood on the inside with the weather resistance of aluminium on the outside.
Glass Options for the Cyprus Climate
Strong sunlight and high temperatures make the right glass essential.
◦ Solar-control glass to reduce heat gain
◦ Low-E coatings for better thermal performance
◦ Laminated or toughened safety glass
◦ Double and triple glazing options
◦ Privacy and decorative glass available
We specify the glass according to the orientation of the opening (south-facing openings usually need stronger solar control).
Shading Systems
Integrated shading improves comfort and protects furniture from UV.
◦ External aluminium shading systems
◦ Wooden shading options
◦ Compatible with most Cocif French door systems
◦ Manual and motorised solutions available
Shading is especially recommended for large glass openings and south or west-facing elevations.
Security Grilles & Protection
For ground-floor openings and villas, additional security is often required.
◦ Decorative and modern security grilles
◦ Options that maintain the elegant look of the French doors
◦ Can be combined with multi-point locking systems
We help you balance aesthetics and security according to the location of the property.
Price & Lead Time
French door prices depend on the system, size, glass specification and finish.
◦ Entry-level systems start at competitive prices
◦ Wood-aluminium and custom designs are quoted according to specification
◦ Typical lead time: 8–14 weeks depending on the model and customisation
