Fire door performance is measured under European standards EN 16034 and EN 1634-1.

Worked example
An EI 60 door will maintain integrity and insulation for at least 60 minutes under standard fire test conditions. This is the most frequently specified rating for internal compartmentation, escape routes and plant rooms in Cyprus.
